I am on the Steering Committee for Junior Achievement of Central PA’s Young Women’s Futures Symposium. The Symposium is a full-day event for female sophomore/junior high school students who are considered to be in the academic middle of their class. The entire day is designed to prepare the young ladies for life after high school, open opportunities, encourage dreams, and build confidence within these young women through speakers, group activities, and networking with professionals like yourself.
One of the day’s activities is to participate in a career exploration panel where the young ladies get to meet in small groups with female professionals currently working in a career in which they have expressed an interest.
The Symposium is in need of the following professional ladies to participate in the career panel:
- Nurses – RNs, LPNs, CRNs, PCAs, etc.
- Forensics (any type of work in this field)
Panelists provide a realistic overview of their profession and then answer questions.
This year’s Young Women’s Futures Symposium will take place on May 27, 2014, at Lebanon Valley College. The time commitment for panelists is from 10 – 11 a.m. (arrive at 10 a.m., panel begins at 10:20 a.m. and ends at 11 a.m.). Would you be interested in or available to participate in our career panel? I’m looking for ladies who are dynamic and outgoing with whom the young women will easily connect.
If you could let me know by Friday, May 9, that would be greatly appreciated. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. From personal experience, I can tell you that the Symposium is a fun, memorable event for the adult and student participants.
I appreciate your consideration!
